Brazil will increase supplies of grain, meat, fish and other food products to Russia, and will also increase imports of energy resources from the Russian Federation. Maria Laura da Rocha, Secretary General of the Brazilian Foreign Ministry, spoke about this on February 27.

The corresponding agreements were concluded during the 12th meeting of the Russian-Brazilian intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation.

“We agreed that the range of supplies of various agricultural and grain products will be expanded”said da Rocha, quoted by TASS.

Also among the agreements is an increase in the volume of imports of Russian natural gas from Russia to Brazil, as well as the supply of diesel and uranium fuel and materials that will contribute to the use of nuclear energy for medical purposes.

Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Vladimir Ilyichev, who was present at the meeting, said that in 2023 the volume of trade between Russia and Brazil amounted to $8.4 billion, as in 2022, when this figure reached a historical maximum.
