Russians have access to a wide and varied market of services for organizing non-cash payments, capable of adapting and satisfying client requests depending on the situation. This was reported on March 28 News with reference to the press service of the Central Bank of the country.

“Today citizens have access to a wide range of services for non-cash payments”– the Central Bank reminds.

Thus, there are tools on a national scale – the Fast Payment System (FPS), Mir Pay applications (for phones on Android OS version 7.0 and higher) and SBPay (for phones on different OS, including iOS), as well as the own payment services of various banks . A solution such as QR codes is being actively implemented.

The regulator provides comparative data: only through SBP in 2023, purchases were made 4.5 times more often than a year earlier. Currently, there is also an increase in the popularity of the mentioned non-cash payment services.

Thanks to the development of the payment services market, the share of non-cash payments in retail is increasing. Over the past year the figure was 83.4%.

The Central Bank plans to develop the ability to pay for purchases using unified QR codes.

“Here it is important that the customer experience is as convenient and simple as possible. Today, together with individual market participants, we are working on a unified QR code initiative. This will allow the client to simplify payment without thinking about what system formed it.”explained the press service of the Central Bank.

Let us remind you that on March 27, representatives of Samsung Corporation announced that from April 3, the use of Mir virtual cards will no longer be available through the Samsung Pay system.
