Selena Quintanilla’s great talent has made her one of the most important Mexican-American singers of all time. Even 27 years after his unfortunate death, he continues to give rise to talk about either his great successes or his autobiographical series, which ended in 2021.
Singer Amor Prohibido managed to revolutionize Tejano music with her distinct style, which also had a big impact on 90s fashion.
Recently, great news was announced for all the singer’s subscribers in her official social networks: the release of a new album with unreleased songs.
Abraham and Suzette Quintanilla were responsible for the remastering and release of Moonchild Mixes, an album that matches the singer’s name as Selena means “Moon Goddess” in Greek.
Moonchild Mixes includes a total of 13 tracks, 10 of which are completely unreleased. AB Quintanilla stated that these songs were mixed to make Selena’s voice sound more mature, as some of the songs were recorded when the singer was only 13 years old.
The Quintanilla family said this new album is meant to continue the legacy of the popular Tex-Mex singer.
“The public still remembers her. They did not forget her and were waiting for such a project,” said A.B. Quintanilla, Selena’s brother.
After the departure of Moonchild Mixes, it was revealed that there are still unreleased songs by Selena, however, her family has not yet decided whether these tracks will be released to the public in the future or remain under protection.
The only thing that’s certain is that Univision is working on a music tribute called Forever Selena, which doesn’t have a release date yet but is expected to release sometime in 2023.
