Ashley later asked Hugh who he would like to see tonight, but he replied, “No one in particular.” The conversation got awkward when she tried to salvage the situation by asking, “What are you wearing today?” to which Grant commented, “Just my costume. I can’t remember my tailor,” to later portray disbelief with his eyes.
A slew of comments immediately surfaced on social media calling the interview “the most embarrassing moment on TV in 2023” and condemning the attitude Hugh grantwith messages such as “if you don’t want to be there, go home” and “that kind of eye movement was hateful”.
