Masha Rasputina called the widow of the songwriter Derbenev a wise woman

Russian singer Masha Rasputina said that the widow of the Soviet poet Leonid Derbenev, Vera, was remembered by her as a wise woman who always created comfort around her brilliant husband.

“A wise woman who took care of the hearth of her ingenious great husband, who understood who was next to her, who Leonid Petrovich was, what the Almighty gave him for a gift. He has not just a song text, but real poetry. He was a man of genius, unique by it’s nature”– explained the singer, whom Leonid Derbenev wrote many hits.

According to Rasputina, she saw Derbeneva two years ago, during the filming of the program, but then the poet’s widow was already experiencing health problems and moved in a wheelchair.

She recalls Vera Derbeneva as a very enterprising person.

“With a higher education, erudite, she understood music, poetry (her husband taught), she knew what was better, what was worse, she could compare. She created comfort and coziness for him. She was a great hostess and cooked very tasty, “ – Rasputin recalls.

Especially, according to her, she was successful in pies, with which she treated guests who came to the songwriter.

“And fish, and vegetable, and dessert, with apple, cherry, jam. When I arrived, until I had eaten a piece of a newly baked pie, I didn’t go to Derbenev. She knew: today Masha Rasputina would arrive, with Leonid Petrovich she would discuss poetry for a new songs. She said: “Oh, then you will go, eat, eat a pie, drink some tea.” She was very hospitable, “- remembers Rasputin.

She noted that the poet’s wife had the entire household – he greatly appreciated this and regretted that he could not help much.

Vera Derbeneva died on April 30 at the age of 88. She will be buried at the Vostryakovsky cemetery, where the grave of Leonid Derbenev is also located.

Leonid Derbenev (1931 – 1995) – Soviet and Russian songwriter. He collaborated with the most famous Russian pop stars, including composers Alexander Zatsepin, Vyacheslav Dobrynin, Maxim Dunayevsky, singers Muslim Magomayev, Lev Leshchenko, Philip Kirkorov, Mikhail Boyarsky, Vladimir Presnyakov Jr., Valery Leontiev and many others. He wrote poems for the songs “Island of Bad Luck”, “Help Me”, “Song about Hares”, “Song about Bears”, “Conversation with Happiness”, “January Blizzard Rings” in the films directed by Leonid Gaidai “Diamond Hand”, “Ivan Vasilievich changes profession” and “Prisoner of the Caucasus, or Shurik’s New Adventures”.
