French court drops Luc Besson’s sexual assault charges

France’s Court of Cassation has cleared director Luc Besson of sexual assault charges against actress Sand Van Rooy. It is reported by the tabloid People.

The artist sued Besson in 2018. According to her, she was then in a relationship with him, the director raped a woman in the Bristol Hotel in Paris.

Then the court stopped the case due to lack of evidence, the following year the actress filed a complaint. In 2021, the court rejected it, but Van Rooy filed an appeal to reopen the case.

The court again stated that there was no evidence of a crime and ordered the artist to pay the cinematographer 2.5 thousand euros, and also forbade her to sue Besson.

Recall that an investigation is underway against the lead singer of the Rammstein band Till Lindemann. The prosecutor’s office in Berlin noted that the department received a lot of accusations from fans of the team. According to them, the singer invited them backstage and persuaded the girls to have sex.

In addition, Russian Alina Makeeva, who worked as a casting director for the team, is also involved in the case as a suspect. According to those who contacted the police, she assisted the performer in organizing meetings with fans.
