REN TV will show a documentary about the life of Yuri Shatunov

REN TV is preparing the premiere of a documentary film about one of the most famous artists of our country. Yuri Shatunov, despite his enormous popularity, had an amazing talent – to hide his personal life from everyone. A bright career, the love of fans and sudden death. “White Roses”, “Gray Night”, “Well, What Are You” – in the late 1980s and early 1990s, these songs drove the whole country crazy. They knew the lyrics of the compositions by heart, and when the main star appeared on stage, the fans literally cried and lost their voices.

“This is the logic of God. It happened, so it is so. This is how it works.”said the author and performer SHAMAN.

A simple orphanage resident, Yura Shatunov, became a public favorite overnight. But what did the idol of millions have to go through in his personal life?

“I don’t know whether he was sober or drunk, but he practically strangled Yura with a pillow,” – said the director of the documentary “Yuri Shatunov. Unknown Idol” Alexander Igudin.

Shatunov’s father abandoned his son and wife when Yura was still a child. Soon the artist’s mother also died. Maybe that’s why the lead singer of “Tender May” valued his family and protected it from the attention of the press.

“I found out that dad was a famous artist from the kindergarten teachers. I felt a little special,” – admitted the son of Yuri Shatunov Denis.

“I would continue to make music because I want my dad to be proud of me. I am very proud of my dad because he became an idol for the whole world,” – said Yuri Shatunov’s daughter Estella.

Sudden death from a heart attack came as a complete surprise to relatives and fans.

“It somehow didn’t fit. So young, and he was gone,” – says singer Nikolai Baskov.

It still remains a mystery why doctors were unable to save a star of two generations at once. The authors of the documentary film “Unknown Idol” tried to find answers.

“The myocardial infarction was not fresh. As we say, it was about a day ago,” – said the chief physician of the Domodedovo Central City Hospital Andrei Osipov.

Another question that haunts me: what role could Shatunov’s many years of legal squabbles with his sworn partner in “Tender May” have played in this sudden death.

“If someone killed Yura, it was probably him,” – says one of the lead singers of the group “Mama” Rafael Isangulov.
