Negligence of a shocking scale was revealed by the inspection of Roskachestvo. Experts of the department found E. coli in almost every second portion of Philadelphia rolls, which are prepared for take-away shops and restaurants. And without exception, the number of microorganisms was exceeded in each serving. Correspondent “Izvestia” Sergei Khaidarov tried to find out why the popular Japanese dish turned out to be so dangerous in our reality.

“This is a wide ribbon. They just get sick when they eat fish,” – explained the expert.

Such a parasite can live and grow in the human intestine after visiting a sushi bar or delivering rolls. It is enough for the fish to spoil a little, and it is teeming with various rods and bacteria.

“E. coli can cause sepsis, urinary infections, infections of various organs and tissues. Any rolls that are not subjected to heat treatment can be sources of any infectious pathogens,” – explained the Director of the Research Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Viral Infections, an infectious disease specialist, immunologist-allergist Georgy Vikulov.

This is exactly what happened to Arina Gaidai from Novosibirsk. She and her husband bought a set of their favorite takeaway rolls.

“What alerted me is a very small layer of fish that does not look like fresh. But it was all in the box, we bought it in a set, and it was not so clear”, – recalls Arina Gaidai.

As a result, the evening in Asian style was irrevocably ruined. And there are hundreds of such cases across the country.

The results of Roskachestvo showed that E. coli was found in 40 percent of the rolls taken for research. In six restaurants, the bacteria got into the product due to unsanitary conditions, but that’s not all. Immediately at 15 points, the experts prepared rolls with an off-scale number of harmful microorganisms. Most likely, there are violations of storage conditions. On many packages there is no composition and date of preparation.

“We studied rolls that are sold both in retail outlets, that is, in ordinary stores, and are sold by restaurants and other take-away catering organizations. Rolls were studied for microbiological characteristics, that is, in order to understand how they can potentially bear the risk, – said the deputy head of the autonomous non-profit organization “Russian Quality System” Elena Saratseva.

– They found E. coli in your network.

– Escherichia coli? I don’t know, we have a fresh delivery every day, they take it apart well, there were no complaints.

The seller denies everything, although the network where he works admitted that a malicious stick could theoretically get into their rolls, and this is supposedly an isolated case.

Buying Japanese rolls like Russian roulette. After all, the way they are prepared in itself increases the risk of infection. Rolls are not cooked, and bacteria multiply rapidly in raw fish, rice and perishable sauces. No wonder they eat wasabi and ginger with rolls: they disinfect the body.
