According to Speaker Oleg Nikolenko, the statements of Georgian politicians have nothing to do with reality and cannot shake the strong friendship between the Ukrainian and Georgian peoples.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine responded to the statements of the Georgian government and parliament on the interference in Ukraine’s internal affairs. Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko wrote this on Facebook today, March 13.
He emphasized that in the past few days, the Prime Minister and the leadership of the Georgian parliament made a series of provocative statements directed at Ukraine, repeating the theses of the Russian propaganda.
“We categorically reject such allusions that have nothing to do with reality. The Georgian authorities are looking for their enemy in the wrong place,” he wrote.
In addition, Nikolenko noted that the statements of Georgian politicians cannot shake the strong friendship between the Ukrainian and Georgian peoples.
“We greatly appreciate the support of the Georgians at a time when Ukrainians are fighting for their independence. Ukraine, for its part, has been and will continue to be a friend of the Georgian people, whom we wish would not stop improving the future of Europe.” .
Recall that yesterday, March 12, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili accused the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and other representatives of the Ukrainian authorities of supporting the protests that took place in Tbilisi in connection with the adoption of the law on foreign agents.
Recall, on March 8, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his gratitude for the protesters in Georgia to hold the Ukrainian flag and sing the Ukrainian anthem during the rallies in Tbilisi. The head of state noted that Ukrainians wish Georgia success in democracy and in Europe.
Earlier, we wrote that at the plenary session of the Georgian Parliament on March 10, the pro-government group voted against the adoption of the bill “On transparency of foreign influence” on foreign agents.
