“We need to make peace”: Arestovic defends negotiations with Russia over “deadlock” (video)

OP’s former advisor believes Ukraine should seek a “serious” solution to ending the war. To him, it’s about “survival”.

Alexei Arestovich, former freelance advisor to the President’s Office and blogger, explained his statement about the refusal to return the occupied territories. According to him, the lands can be returned politically when Russian President Vladimir Putin “is no longer there.” Details are known from the issue of “Khodorkovsky LIVE” dated November 2.

“We need to look for an alternative solution,” Arestovich emphasized.

According to him, a similar idea forms the basis of US policy. The former adviser believes Americans must prevent “Putin’s Russia from falling completely under Chinese rule.”

“Russia should not win, but neither should we lose. This means the approximate equality at the front that is now being established,” Arestovich said.

He believes that there is no reason other than “science fiction” to change this situation. The blogger said that a “wise decision” was needed, which would mean withdrawing the Russian Federation to the Western or neutral side. He said this certainly did not correspond to the complete defeat of the aggressor country, which would “push it into the arms of China.”

The former advisor stressed that this was not a matter of “sympathy” but of “survival”. He noted that both armies suffered heavy losses, creating “a virtual stalemate in the battle.” As he explained, Russia can no longer seize large territories, nor can Ukraine recapture them.

“I think we need to make peace. Go to negotiations, but these negotiations must be fair and equal,” Arestovich added.

He also said that he is currently abroad but plans to return to Ukraine before the elections.

Let us remind you that blogger Alexey Arestovich published his “pre-election program” on November 1. One of the issues concerned the refusal to take back temporarily occupied territories if Ukraine was admitted to NATO.

Advisor to the head of the Presidential Office Dmitry Lytvyn responded to Arestovich’s statement. He called on Ukrainians to forget the statements of “a media celebrity” and not to mention his name out loud.
