According to the chairman of the regional council, over the past two years the regional council has not made a single decision in favor of the community of the Zaporozhye region.

On March 4, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence supported a bill providing for the dissolution of the Zaporozhye Regional Council. The decision of the committee was interpreted by the head of the Zaporozhye regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, according to the report “5th edition”.

According to Fedorov, there are hundreds of issues that are currently “pending”. He noted that some MPs in the regional council were convicted of collaboration crimes, some left the country, while others stayed in the region or went to the front.

“But if we put all this together, today we must admit that the regional council has not made a single decision in favor of the community of the Zaporozhye region in the last two years,” Fedorov said.

Five regional institutions currently have no directors, the official said. According to him, the contracts of many managers of regional institutions have expired.

Fedorov also emphasized that the committee unanimously decided to dissolve the Zaporozhye Regional Council.

He had been serving as mayor of Melitopol since 2020 and was kidnapped by Russian troops on March 11, 2022 and held in a pre-trial detention center.
