Zelensky fired Danilov and the head of foreign intelligence Litvinenko: who will replace them

According to the presidential decree, Alexander Litvinenko, who was previously the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, became the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky fired Alexey Danilov from the position of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council and Alexander Litvinenko from the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service. The relevant decrees were published on the official portal of the Office of the President of Ukraine on Tuesday, March 26.

Litvinenko has headed the Foreign Intelligence Service since July 23, 2021. Prior to that, he served as Deputy Undersecretary of the National Security and Defense Council from April 4, 2014 to August 13, 2019. Danilov had been serving as Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council since October 3, 2019.

Zelensky also signed decrees appointing the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council and the head of intelligence. Thus, Oleg Ivashchenko became the new head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, and the aforementioned Litvinenko became the new secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.

Let us recall that on March 20, NSDC Secretary Alexey Danilov said that Russia was preparing a campaign to discredit the top military-political leadership of Ukraine. Alexey Danilov said that Russia has a “sector C” operating throughout Ukraine. In particular, he focused his activities on various areas – discrediting the president, working on the population and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. NSDC Secretary added that most of such information is sent to our state.

Earlier, on March 19, Danilov said that the West should prepare for the decolonization of Russia. According to him, this process will happen faster.
