A Pittsburgh Steelers fan died Sunday after falling off an escalator. during a game against the New York Jets at Acrisure Stadium.
The Department of Public Safety said that police and emergency personnel they received the call after a fan fell shortly after the Steelers’ loss to the New York Jets.
The victim was taken to the hospital by paramedics. He passed away soon after. The identity of the man in question has not been released.
“We are aware of the unfortunate incident that took place today at the Akrisur stadium. The Steelers announced this in a press release.
“We are working with local authorities and helping to investigate this case. We send our thoughts and prayers to the guest’s family,” the team said.
In other notable duels on Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Washington Commanders 10-25, while their passer Cooper Rush took the win 24-20. The Steelers (rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett debuted in Pittsburgh) and the Green Bay Packers lost 24–27 to the New England Patriots with 251 yards and two touchdowns to Aaron Rodgers.
