Hofis Lopez talks about becoming an idol in Pachuca after winning Liga MX and being practically kicked out of his club by Chivas.

I only need one season Javier Eduardo “Chofis” Lopez to become one of the best Liga MX players again. After his bittersweet experience at the San Jose Earthquakes in MLS and the Chivas almost kicking him out of the club for indiscipline, the midfielder managed to win the 2022 opening tournament with Tuzos del Pachuca.

This is the second trophy he has lifted in Liga MX after winning with CD Guadalajara in 2017, especially in the final tournament. Jofis López appears to be much more confident and committed as he was left out for several seasons when he was seen as one of the young talents who settled not only in the local tournament but also in the Mexican national team.

In response to all the trust the Pachuca coaching and management team has placed in him, in press statements emphasized the good play and team dynamics that are practiced and breathe in Tuzosin addition to strong affection from fans.

“I came to a team where they play very well (…) every game gave me the courage to go forward,” said the 28-year-old in the midst of the playing field and celebration.

It was impossible not to ask Javier López about the episode of rejection experienced at Chivas, the club from which he retired from his main forces, and because of the episode of indiscipline, the board sought to remove him in one way or another.

“I don’t believe in rematches, I just came to enjoy and be happy”- Chofis answered categorically when asked about this issue.
