Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo has threatened to leave the national team playing at the World Cup in Qatar, amid a conflict with coach Fernando Santos. About it writes the publication Record.
According to the publication, the star striker reacted negatively to the decision of Santos to replace him in the match of the third round of the group stage of the world championship with South Korea.
It is reported that Ronaldo, emotionally told the coach that he replaced him too early.
“You’re in a hell of a hurry to change me!” – said Cristiano Ronaldo to the head coach of the Portuguese national team.
At the same time, already in the first match of the playoff stage with Switzerland, the forward remained on the bench at all, which has not happened to the player since 2008 in all major tournaments with the national team. Portugal won a convincing victory with a score of 6:1, and Ronaldo, who appeared during the meeting, could not distinguish himself with effective actions.
At the World Cup, the athlete has only one goal scored in four games.
Recently, the world football celebrity is increasingly showing his quick temper. Due to a scandalous interview in which Ronaldo expressed his negative attitude towards the management of the club and, in particular, the head coach of Manchester United, Eric ten Hagu, the club terminated the contract with the Portuguese ahead of schedule.
