Russian MMA fighter Magomed Ankalaev considers unfair the draw result of his fight for the vacant UFC light heavyweight title (up to 93 kilograms) against Pole Jan Blachowicz. The fight took place on December 11 at the organization’s tournament in the American Las Vegas, the words of the Russian are quoted by Sport-Express.

Recall that the fight of 30-year-old Ankalaev against 39-year-old Blachowicz became the main fight of the UFC 282 tournament. The athletes played all five rounds on canvas, and the fight itself ended in a draw – according to the results of the fight, three judges did not reveal the winner. This left the UFC light heavyweight title vacant.

Magomed Ankalaev himself believes that he defeated a fighter from Poland in a duel. The Russian also considers it unfair that he was not awarded the title of UFC light heavyweight champion.

“I won the fight, for some reason they didn’t give me the belt. What is it at all, I don’t know. I won the fight, I won the belt, where is my belt? I don’t know what it is”– said Ankalaev.

The Russian also added that he was offended by the unfair result of the fight with Jan Blachowicz. According to him, he does not know if he will continue his career in the UFC after this fight.

“Whether I will perform here or not, I don’t know either. I have no words, I’m just offended”– said Magomed Ankalaev.

Interestingly, Jan Blachowicz also admitted the unfair outcome of the fight. He believes that his opponent should have received the UFC title.

At the end of the fight between Ankalaev and Blakhovitch, the opinions of the three referees were divided. One of them gave the victory to the Russian with a score of 48:46, the other judge – to the Pole (48:47), the third one recorded a draw (47:47).

Magomed Ankalaev has 18 wins, one loss and one draw in his professional MMA career. Jan Blachowicz, who lost the title belt in October last year against Glover Teixeira of Brazil, has 29 wins, nine losses and one draw.
