Readers of the British edition of the Daily Mail lashed out at Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for his request to FIFA.
Earlier, Zelensky’s office asked the organization to show the fans a video of the President of Ukraine’s address before the final match of the World Cup on December 18. FIFA rejected the president’s request. Readers of the British tabloid supported this decision on Twitter and reminded Zelensky that sport should be out of politics.
“I agree with FIFA. Football often brings people together not for a political campaign, if Zelensky wants to make a speech, he should ask for support in ending the war,” – says @misterherawana.
@GreatDeximal added that if the floor is given to Zelensky, then it should be given to the Palestinians, Yemenis, Iraqis, Iranians and others.
“Who cares about Zelensky? It’s already so hot in the Middle East,” – supported by @ZmarayKochi.
And @Sr1Djw suggested that the President of Ukraine just likes to be in the spotlight.
Argentina and France will fight for the first place in the final on December 18. Also, the audience is waiting for the game on December 17 between the teams of Croatia and Morocco for the third and fourth places.
In early December, the son of former US President Donald Trump Jr. criticized Volodymyr Zelensky for persecuting the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
