Rublev became the first racket of Russia, leaving Medvedev behind

Tennis player Andrey Rublev is recognized as the first racket of Russia. In the updated ranking of the strongest tennis players in the world, the athlete took sixth place, two positions ahead of Daniil Medvedev, who has held the title of the country’s first racket for the past four years.

The official website of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) has published an updated rating of players. Rublev, 25, moved up from eighth to sixth while Medvedev dropped from seventh to eighth.

The Spaniard Carlos Alcaras kept the first place in the ranking, his compatriot Rafael Nadal and the Norwegian Kasper Ruud (5720) took the second position.

On account of the 25-year-old Andrei Rublev 12 victories in tournaments of the Association of Tennis Professionals. He became the Olympic champion in mixed doubles paired with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, and also won the Davis Cup and the ATP Cup as part of the Russian team.
