McGregor to fight for the first time since 2021

Former UFC champion Irishman Conor McGregor will fight American Michael Chandler for the first time since 2021, Dana White has announced to the promotion.

Athletes will become coaches in the reality show The Ultimate Fighter 31 and at the end of the season will converge in the octagon. The exact date will be announced later.

McGregor is 34 years old. In his last fight in July 2021, he was injured and lost in the first round to American Dustin Poirier.

Chandler is 36 years old. In November at UFC 281, he also lost to Poirier ahead of schedule. Chandler became the champion of Bellator in lightweight (up to 70 kg) three times.

The Ultimate Fighter is a sports reality show featuring two teams of MMA fighters coached by well-known members of the sport. The winner of the project receives a contract with the UFC.
