It is reported that Christian Atsu would have been found alive under the rubble after the earthquake in Turkey.

After disappearing among the ruins of earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, which claimed the lives of more than 2,500 people, Christian Atsu would have been found in a Hatay hospital with injuries to his right leg and difficulty breathing.

According to the Portuguese newspaper A Bola.search and rescue teams had to locate the Ghanaian player along with his teammates Onur Ergün and Burak Oksuz and they stood and walked.

Apparently, the sports director of “Khatayspor” Taner Savut still does not give traces of life and it was not possible to find him among the rubble. The news came in the morning hours after the Earth moved 7.7 degrees on the Richter scale.

So far, it has not been possible to confirm that the information about the find is true. Malaga’s Twitter account was one of the first to report the situation this Monday morning.

“Turkish media reports that Christian Atsu, a former Malaguista player, was trapped under rubble after a magnitude 7.7 earthquake. Our thoughts are with him and his family at this time of terrible suffering,” they wrote.

Atsu is a midfielder with a past with the likes of Malaga, Newcastle, Porto and Chelsea. He also made several international appearances with his team. 24 hours before the disaster, the African became the author of the winning goal (1:0) of his current team Hatayspor against
Kasimpasa.

Volkan Demirel, a former Turkish goalkeeper turned coach of Atsu, tearfully asked for help after the earthquake, which also happened in Syria. “Help. I want to ask you to send all the resources you have. It’s not just Hatay or Antakya. Please, I beg you, for God’s sake, people are dying here.”
