Apparently, the confusion could have arisen due to misidentification, Hatayspor doctor Gurbey Kahvechi told the press.
“When we learned that he had been taken to the Dortyol hospital, we went to look for him, but he was not there. At the moment, unfortunately, it seems that (sports director) Taner Savut and Christian Atsu have not been found,” the doctor said today.
The club announced on Tuesday that the international footballer had been rescued alive, but his situation is unknown.
