UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev said that he did not intend to end his sports career in the near future.

“I don’t have a threshold, a limit. As long as I feel that I’m the best fighter in the world. With every fight, I gain momentum, show the best results. As long as these figures increase, I will continue to continue. on retirement”– Makhachev said after returning to Dagestan.

He flew there after the victory in Australia over Alexander Volkanovski.

The fight took place in Perth. The Russian won by decision.

In general, the fight was dictated by Makhachev, who dominated the stalls. However, Volkanovski seized the initiative in the very ending and managed to carry out several good series of strikes, preventing Makhachev from responding.

After the fight, Volkanovski hinted that Makhachev might have been cheating ahead of their fight at UFC 284.
