Switzerland joined the boycott of the 2023 World Boxing Championship due to the participation of Russian athletes in it with the anthem and flag.
In Switzerland, they noted that boxers from this state will not participate in any competitions together with the Russians. The Council of the Swiss Boxing Federation adopted the corresponding resolution in October last year, RIA Novosti reports.
This resolution also applies to the championship of the planet.
Earlier it was reported that the Boxing Federation of Canada will not take part in the 2023 World Boxing Championship among men and women due to the admission of athletes from Russia and Belarus to the competition. The corresponding statement was made by the head of the organization, Ryan O’Shea.
Russians and Belarusians will compete in these tournaments under their national flags. Boycott of the World Cup has already been announced by the United States, Ireland and the Czech Republic.
