Dynamo celebrates 100th anniversary

Today, thousands of sports fans across Russia are celebrating a truly historic holiday. Exactly one hundred years ago, the Dynamo club was formed in Moscow, rightfully bearing the title of legendary. Over the century of its existence, the team has been noted not only for resounding victories and famous players, but it has firmly entered the art and culture of our country. The correspondent recalled the main achievements “Izvestia” Daniel Levin.

Each Dynamo player to the question “what is the strength?” will give one answer – “power in motion.” For a whole century, under this slogan, Dynamo football players have been glorifying white and blue colors. Eleven victories in the national championships, seven national cups, one super cup.

“I would like to wish our club a trophy by the centenary! We would like to wish our fans to enjoy our game, have great fun, come to the stadium, support the team”– wished the goalkeeper of “Dynamo Moscow” Anton Shunin.

The Dynamo club became world famous after the legendary British tour in 1945. The founders of football gathered the best players from different teams. But only twice achieved a draw. Guests from the USSR confidently won two more games.

“When I went to the pioneer camp, then, under the impression of the Dynamo team’s trip to England, I told the pioneer teacher how I went to London as part of the children’s football team”– shared his memories of the people’s artist of the RSFSR, a fan of FC “Dynamo” Gennady Khazanov.

The history of the team dates back a hundred years ago, when servicemen of the Moscow District of the Main Political Directorate of the NKVD united to play football. In 1925, the construction of the stadium in Petrovsky Park began. Later, it will host matches of the All-Union Spartakiad, the Olympics-80. Before taking on a modern look, the arena was reconstructed several times.

“Traditions at Dynamo are also in the details. Gong strikes appeared at the Moscow stadium in the 1930s. The idea was borrowed from the hippodrome. This is how the last round of the races was celebrated there. In football, this means that it’s time for the arena workers to prepare for the end of the game”– correspondent Daniil Levin found out at the scene.

The 1960s were a golden time for the club. In the wake of sporting success, Dynamo penetrates into Soviet art. The famous painter Alexander Deineka, depicting athletes, draws them in blue and white uniforms. The flag of the same color is on the giant panel of another People’s Artist of the USSR, Yuri Pimenov. Why be surprised if even in the cinema the king is wearing a suit with the letter D. And the phrase from the legendary film “Gentlemen of Fortune” – “What about Dynamo, is it running? – Everyone is running!” became winged.

“This brand is well-known, everyone knows it. And I think if you ask people on the street, they will most likely know the Dynamo society and talk about Lev Yashin, tell more about the famous Dynamo players that we had, have and will!” – said the Olympic champion in speed skating, a member of the Dynamo society Svetlana Zhurova.

Lev Yashin is a team legend for all time. The first and only goalkeeper to become the best player in the world. Triumphant of the Olympics, European Championship, five-time winner of the USSR championship. Many clubs tried to poach him! But the “Black Spider” until the end of his career remained true to the blue and white colors.

“When I sailed with my creative group, Lev Ivanovich Yashin was on the ship. And he told me so much about Dynamo, about his life”– recalled the People’s Artist of Russia, the author of the anthem of the VFSO “Dynamo”.

Yashin was the main star of that Dynamo. Modest, but so bright. The light of which charged everyone – from the boy in the courtyard gate to the main poets of that time.

Today, the centennial anniversary is celebrated not only by football players! The Dynamo Society is represented in dozens of sports: hockey, tennis, basketball, volleyball, many individual disciplines. More than three hundred pupils became Olympic champions. More than seven hundred Dynamo players won the gold of the world championships.
