Racing at Churchill Downs will be suspended and relocated to another racetrack in Kentucky while the death of 12 horses is investigated.

Following the death of 12 horses in five weeks, racing at Churchill Downs will be suspended.while the authorities investigate the facts. During this process races will be moved to another racetrack in Kentucky.

Meanwhile until this weekend the races will be held at Churchill Downs headquarters, meaning it will be this Saturday and this Sundaythe final races to take place at the venue while authorities investigate the unfortunate death of 12 in just five weeks, a figure that is undoubtedly very disturbing and needs to be investigated.

Ellis Park in Henderson will be the venue for the races.this racecourse is owned by Churchill Downs, so far the deaths of horses have not been related to the equipment of the racecourse or its surface, however, these were the deaths that marked the races for the Triple Crown of this 2023.

Churchill Downs CEO Bill Carstangen called the events unfortunate and unacceptable.so he asked that they be given a little more time to investigate, as well as review security, surface, and integrity protocols.

It should be noted that according to reports, The California Superintendent of Paths conducted an independent investigation into the surface condition and protocols of dirt and turf paths.These results are expected to be presented in the coming weeks.
