Former Manchester United and Netherlands goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar suffered a brain hemorrhage while on holiday in Croatia. This is reported by the Dutch edition of De Telegraaf.
It is known that the legend of the “Red Devils” was taken to a medical facility, at the moment he is in intensive care. Nothing is known about Van der Sar’s condition at the moment, but the first days after a brain hemorrhage are crucial.
A few weeks ago, the former footballer decided to step down as the CEO of Ajax Amsterdam. Edwin van der Sar has been on the board of directors of the club from the Netherlands since November 2012, since November 2016 he became the general director of the team. His contract was set to run until June 2025, but van der Sar has been under fire lately due to Ajax’ poor results.
At the same time, the wife of the ex-goalkeeper Annemarie also suffered a brain hemorrhage many years ago, this happened at the end of 2009.
