Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari Charles Leclerc were disqualified following the results of the Formula 1 US Grand Prix race, Sport Express reported on Monday, October 23.

The racers’ cars failed to pass technical inspection after the finish. Delegate Joe Bauer identified non-compliance with regulations on skid boards under the bottom of cars.

As a result, Briton Hamilton was left without second place, and Monaco’s Leclerc lost sixth. In the final protocol, Lando Norris (McLaren) rose to second place, Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) took third.

The winner was 26-year-old Dutchman Max Verstappen (Red Bull), who celebrated his 50th victory following the results of the race in Austin, Texas.

Earlier it was reported that Verstappen set a new Formula 1 record for the number of consecutive stage victories. With ten victories, he surpassed German driver Sebastian Vettel, who managed to win nine championship rounds in a row in 2013.
