Belarusians said that the footage showed that the UAV was launched from Ukrainian territory for surveillance.
Belarusian border guards announced the capture of a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle with a drone. Details on the official website were published by the press service of the State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus.
According to the statement, on February 8, border guards in the Stolin region spotted a drone flying from Ukraine towards the interior of Belarus. The platoon patrolling the field used an electronic weapon and grounded the plane.
The Border Committee of Belarus claims to have reviewed video footage stored on the device’s memory card. According to the border guards, the drone was launched from the territory of Ukraine to conduct reconnaissance and study “technical means of guarding the border.” Police launched an investigation into the incident.
Judging by the published images, border guards shot down an Autel EVO II civilian quadcopter – such vehicles are actually used by the Armed Forces, as well as the Security Service and the State Border Service of Ukraine. The flight range of such models is not more than 25 km. On the case you can see the logo in the form of a UAV and the inscription “Army of Drones” – this is the name of a government project aimed at providing Ukrainian military UAVs.
In January, the UAF company commander Yuriy Fedorenko named the Autel models one of the best drones for the UAF. The soldier also praised DJI’s Mavic 3, Matrice 30T and Matrice 300 UAVs.
In August, the SBU demonstrated how it destroyed the Russians using the Autel EVO II Dual 640T drone. They used drones to drop grenades at Russian soldiers hiding in a bunker.
