Lightyear Goes Forward, New Company to Develop Lightyear 2 February 21, 2023 0

Light year he is not going to give up and wants to continue his work of launching Lightyear 2. As we know, the Dutch startup that developed Lightyear 0, a car, it can also be charged from the sun thanks to the presence of solar panels on the body, he unexpectedly announced in January the end of production of his car.

Soon the news about company bankruptcy Lighter, who was responsible for the construction of the car (Atlas Technologies). However, the startup has made it clear that it wants to move forward and is working on find new investors to start production of the Lightyear 2. This is a car always equipped with solar charging technology, but aimed at the masses, given that a starting price of 40,000 euros is foreseen. On the other hand, Lightyear 0 was offered for a good 250,000 euros before taxes. According to initial plans, the new model should appear in 2025.

As we have already said, Lightyear is not going to give up and has made it clear that it will create a new company focused entirely on the creation of a new Lightyear 2. Apparently, the Dutch startup, thanks to its investors, was able to raise capital needed to start this new adventure.

However, in order to guarantee work, the Dutch company he put intellectual property on the table developed during these years. Details of the restart project will be announced later. However, it looks like Lightyear’s adventures are destined to continue. Founder of Lightyear Lex Hoofslootcommented:
