US company Universal Hydrogen has tested a hydrogen-powered Dash-8 city jet. Innovative technology was installed only on the left side of the aircraft. This was stated in the Engadget material on March 6th.

The Dash-8 city plane has been drastically modified to accommodate a 30kg engine. A fuel cell from Plug Power and an electric motor created by magniX formed the basis of the test. For “flight safety” a standard Pratt & Whitney turboprop was mounted on the right wing. Universal Hydrogen relies on the prospects of the project. Engineers hope to obtain certification for passenger flights by 2025.
