The Webb Space Telescope has found a new exoplanet named VHS 1256b. It orbits two stars that are close to each other, 40 light-years from Earth, which is considered very close by cosmic standards.

With the help of the NIRSpec and MIRI instruments located at the space observatory, the scientists were able to conduct a comprehensive study of the new planet. It turned out that there are dense clouds of silicates in the upper layers of its atmosphere. In the lower layers, the structure of the clouds changes and becomes more dense. Scientists say these clouds have a very high temperature and are constantly moving, making this planet the world with the most variable atmosphere known to date.

Astronomers have discovered that a day on exoplanet VHS 1256b lasts 22 Earth hours, but is also very far from its two natural stars. According to scientists, the planet is about 4 times farther from the Sun than Pluto (17 years ago this earth was considered the most distant planet in the solar system, but in 2006 it became a dwarf planet).
