Attack from an ambush: the Russians have developed a new tactic to combat drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (video)

The Russian army uses UAV detectors, weapons and light weapons against unmanned aerial vehicles and works in such a way that operators do not have time to react.

Russian troops have developed a working tactic to hunt down UAVs used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Ukrainian soldier and radio technologist Sergei Flash talked about it on his Facebook page.

The expert drew attention to a video previously shot by Russian propagandist Semyon Pegov for the War Gonzo project. On it, the fighters of the RF Armed Forces used electronic reconnaissance (REW) and electronic warfare (EW), in particular two types of anti-drone weapons, to suppress unmanned aerial vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine flying nearby.

As Sergei Flash points out, a soldier monitors and detects the approach of drones using a portable radio frequency analyzer. Noticing a drone moving in their direction, a group of invaders hide in bunkers, move the aircraft 100-200 meters away, and then overwhelm them with drones or attack with small arms if the “scramblers” don’t work.

“Even the weakest weapon will work in this variant. They choose a place along the path of our drones, the pilots fly to a distant target and do not have time to react,” said Sergey Flash.

Earlier, they wrote that the Russians installed detectors for the army to detect unmanned aerial vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Small devices that fit in the palm of your hand receive signals in two frequency bands and warn of approaching drones.

In February, video emerged showing a Ukrainian UAV destroying a Russian drone on the frontline. The soldiers left him near the trench, and a vigilant operator from the Armed Forces of Ukraine noticed and carried out a well-intentioned airstrike that deprived the invaders of protection.

They also wrote that Ukrainian Sergey Kovalchuk is developing anti-drone weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, the device costs 10 times cheaper than foreign analogues, but it also copes with its tasks: it suppresses the most popular DJI Mavic3 and DJI Matrice300 drones in the war in Ukraine.
