Russian Federation announces “unique” electronic warfare system to intercept US hypersonic missiles

The Russian Federation claims that this system has a suppression range of 36,000 km.

According to the news that RIA Novosti cite “an informed source”, the Russian Federation announced the establishment of an electronic warfare system to protect against American missiles.

The “Source” allegedly told the agency’s reporters that electronic warfare could affect US radio-electronic systems, including radar, communications systems, and other means, using interference or electromagnetic radiation.

Electronic warfare system is based on the use of communication and navigation satellites that can transmit interference at desired frequencies. Thus, the system, as stated, will be able to affect any missile that uses satellite navigation or command communication to correct the flight path, and the suppression range will reach 36 thousand km. The electronic warfare system can also suppress enemy radar and optical signals.

According to the agency’s source, the enemy’s devices temporarily malfunctioned under the influence of Russian electronic warfare. In addition, in case of electronic damage, a variant is possible, in which enemy objects are physically destroyed due to overheating.

If there is innovation, it has a modular structure and can be deployed on various platforms.

Russian troops are already using their electronic warfare against the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular, systems: Krasukha, Moskva, Infauna, Leer, Triada and others. The Leer and Krasuha systems have been known since 2014, when they were delivered to the occupied regions of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and were mentioned in the Minsk agreements.

Previously Focus He wrote that electronic warfare aircraft would follow nuclear weapons: a contract was signed for their construction.
