China says its new radar will detect any US missiles or stealth aircraft

“This is the best mid-range 3D radar currently on the market,” say the developers of the new system.

Interesting Engineering writes that China has created a new radar system that can detect all air threats, including stealth fighters. Radar YLC-16 was presented at the 10th International Radar Technology Expo in Beijing.

According to the Nanjing 14th CETC Institute, which developed the radar system, the YLC-16 operates in the S-band and uses a digital solid-state active phased array antenna, powerful processors and other modern components.

“This is the best 3D mid-range radar currently on the market,” said Tang Ji, director of the 14th CETC Institute in Nanjing. “Many foreign militaries, for example from Africa and Asia, have shown great interest in this radar system,” he added.

The YLC-16 radar consumes very little power and can be remotely controlled by transmitting data in real time via fiber optics, microwaves or satellites. Folding antennas and covers on the radar allow easy opening and closing in minutes.

Multi-Purpose Radar System YLC-16 radar can perform civilian tasks such as civil aviation air traffic control as well as military tasks.

Radar can also learn about the intricate internal structure of weather events, enhancing our ability to predict and prevent extreme weather conditions, reducing the impact of natural disasters.

Nanjing 14th CETC Institute is the largest military radar manufacturer in China.

Previously Focus The radar manufacturer said that the TRML-4D will make a record profit due to the fact that its systems show itself well in the fight against the Russian aggressor.
