Pornhub Blocks Utah Users in Protest of Controversial Law

Recently a site with adult content Pornhub has made the shocking decision to block Utah users from accessing its site.. This measure was taken as a way protest against new Utah law called “Age Requirements for Viewing Internet Pornography”which requires users to verify their age before accessing websites with adult content.

This law has been the subject of controversy since its approval, with arguments being made that it is Necessary protection for children who may inadvertently access sites with adult content.. However, others believe that the law violates the privacy of users and creates an unfair barrier for those who want to access legal consensual adult content.

In response to this law, Pornhub has taken the decision to block Utah users from accessing its website as a form of peaceful protest against the law and its effect on user privacy. The company said its users have the right to access legal and voluntary adult content without having to sacrifice their privacy..

This is not the first time Pornhub has suspended operations in response to a government order. In 2019, the company removed over 10 million videos from its website in an effort to combat child exploitation and sexual abuse.. However, the decision to block Utah users from accessing their website is arguably the most glaring move to date.

Message for Utah Users

In addition to blocking Utah users from accessing its website in protest of the Internet pornography age limit law, Pornhub has introduced an additional measure. Users in Utah attempting to access Pornhub will see a recorded message from adult content actress Cherie Deville..

In the message, Deville says that while security and compliance are important to Pornhub, having to show your ID every time you want to visit an adult platform isn’t the most effective solution for protecting users.. Instead, he points out that this measure could compromise the privacy of users and children.

Due to the lack of a real solution, the company has made the difficult decision to disable access to its Utah website entirely. This measure is a form of peaceful protest against the law and its impact on user privacy and is intended to draw attention to the need to find a balance between protecting children and adults’ rights to access legal content.
