MINI prepares for the debut of a new generation of 3-door MINI, which will be offered also in electric version. We already know a lot about this model, as some images have also been released showing the car without camouflage. The automaker has repeatedly confirmed that new 5-door variant. Just a forklift of this model was intercepted during a test session on the road.
Cars spy photo still appears disguised with films hiding the details of the new design. However, already knowing well the appearance of the 3-door, we can easily imagine what the design of the 5-door version will be like. The front end will be completely identical to the 3-door model and will therefore feature new headlights, also oval but slightly larger than the current ones. The octagonal grille will also be new. The real difference will be in the length and the addition of two more doors.
Rear images show the presence of a spoiler, commonly used on JCW models. Interiors you can’t see them, but they should look very similar to the 3-door. Therefore, there will be no classic dashboard in front of the steering wheel. On the other hand, there will be a large round display in the center, from which it will be possible to control all the main functions of the car.
As for the engines we’ll find under the hood, they’ll probably be electrified endothermic plants with mild hybrid technology. On the other hand, a 100% electric version is not provided. The debut of the 3-door MINI is expected soon. For the 5-door model, you will probably have to wait a few more months.
As a reminder, MINI is also working on a new generation of Countryman, which will also be electric, as well as a new Aceman, which will appear in 2024 and will be an electric only model.
