Near Bakhmut, the 92nd brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces captured Russian soldier Ruslan Anyutin with the help of a drone. The commander of the company “Achilles” Yuriy Fedorenko told the details to “Suspilny”.
“I am Anyutin Ruslan Nikolaevich, a soldier of the Russian army. Quadcopter saved my life today,” the soldier said to the camera.
According to Yuri Fedorenko, Ruslan Anyutin served in the regular signal troops of the RF Armed Forces, whose local leadership was appointed from the ranks of the Wagner PMC. A soldier of the Russian Armed Forces fends off his group on the Chasov Yar-Bakhmut line and heard the sound of drone engines in the sky.
He understood that he would inevitably die from the bombing, and therefore he raised his hands and, with the help of hand gestures, began to ask for tolerance from the Ukrainians. According to Yuriy Fedorenko, the cameraman led Ruslan Anyutin through the battlefield, showing the way of the UAV, to the Ukrainian positions, where the soldier was captured by the scouts and infantry of the 92nd brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Firstly, the Ukrainian army made sure that the enemy was unarmed and did not pose a threat.
“Ukrainian captivity objectively saves the lives of the occupiers, therefore, I take this opportunity to urge the occupiers to surrender. This is the only chance to survive and potentially reach their families after the exchange. Otherwise, every one of you who come here, our Armed lands will be destroyed,” he said. Yuri Fedorenko.
The captured fighter shared that due to heavy losses, the mercenaries of the Wagner PMC were getting smaller and smaller, and their duties were increasingly entrusted to regular troops. The soldiers near Bakhmut were given one task: to advance as far as possible and not give up their positions.
On May 10, a video emerged showing how the 92nd brigade captured a Russian soldier using a drone. They dropped a note from the quadcopter calling for him to surrender. The fighter at first refused, but was convinced by the explosion of a grenade fired from the UAV.
