Presented unmanned infantry fighting vehicle with AI Alpar: it fires with a machine gun and directs missiles (video)

This robotic infantry fighting vehicle can also scout and send troops and ammunition to the battlefield.

According to Defense-blog, Turkish armored vehicle manufacturer Otokar introduced its new combat unmanned land-based infantry fighting vehicle called Alpar. This tracked drone will be useful to the military in a variety of combat missions: from destroying the enemy to delivering ammunition.

Alpar is a new unmanned platform that can work together with other manned and unmanned vehicles on the battlefield thanks to its built-in artificial intelligence systems. The maximum loaded mass of an autonomous infantry fighting vehicle is 15 tons. A multi-purpose turret system is responsible for combat equipment and shooting. It includes not only a medium-caliber machine gun, but also an installation with anti-tank missiles. The crew of the combat vehicle can fire at the enemy in a safe place and destroy their tanks from afar.

Military engineers developing the Alpar armored vehicle state that their BMPs have a low thermal signature and this will help the robotic platform not be noticed by enemy electronic warfare systems for as long as possible. Alpar can also be landed directly on the battlefield using a military helicopter or a small transport plane. And for the convenience of the combat crew, the BMP provides a very convenient modular system for replacing armored vehicle batteries.

Gergyuch Otokar, the company’s general manager, noted that the Alpar autonomous armored vehicle can perform not only combat but also reconnaissance missions. In addition, this BMP can assist in evacuating the wounded from the battlefield or delivering ammunition, medical equipment and supplies to the troops.

According to Otokar, this BMP was developed taking into account the needs of various armed forces, including the Turkish army, which is currently exploring the possibility of purchasing such a vehicle.

We said earlier that Turkey introduced the new kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicle KEMANKES. Launchable from a large Bayraktar TB3 UAV, this drone is equipped with a high-explosive warhead as well as blade wings that can pierce armor and explode inside the target.
