In July, the new electric Fiat 600 (600e) was introduced, B-SUV closely related to the Jeep Avenger. Both models are based on the same platform and share some of the mechanics. Production of two vehicles is carried out at the Stellantis plant in Tychy, Poland.
Given the technical similarity of the two vehicles, let’s try to compare them.
The new Fiat 600 measures 4171mm long, 1781mm wide and 1523mm high. The Jeep Avenger, on the other hand, measures 4084mm long, 1776mm wide and 1528mm high. So Fiat house model is slightly larger. For luggage, the Jeep Avenger has more space, since the trunk has a capacity of 380 liters compared to 360 liters for the model of the Italian manufacturer.
For the styling of its B-SUV, Fiat relied heavily on this electro 500starting with the rounded shape of the headlights. Obviously, given the size, the shapes are more muscular. There are also parts in glossy black, chrome and black matte plastic. On the rear bumper we find the Italian flag. Depending on specification, rims up to 18 inches are possible.
On the other hand, the Jeep Avenger has the classic proportions of Jeep models. This B-SUV features a seven-slot grille, a contrasting black roof and very slim full-LED headlights. To underline the possibility to overcome “difficult” roads without problems, like all jeeps, we also find a skid plate and other devices to protect the mechanical parts. You can rely on this B-SUV 18″ alloy wheels.
Cabin The new Fiat 600 has a layout reminiscent of both the electric Fiat 500 and the Jeep Avenger. Design is essential and we find a 7″ digital instrument screen in a round element and 10.25″ touch screen infotainment system Uconnect.
Below the center screen are the climate controls, and even lower are the transmission controls. There is a large storage compartment in the central tunnel. Fiat B-SUV has a special “chromotherapy” function. In practice, it will be possible to select eight different colors for ambient lighting and screen graphics, for a total of 64 customizable combinations. The driver’s seat is electrically adjustable and has a massage function.
Thus, the interior of the Jeep Avenger does not differ much from that of the 600. Inside, we can find a digital instrument panel (7 or 10.25 inches) and an infotainment system with a 10.25-inch central touch screen. The climate controls have always been located below the center display and even below the transmission. Again, there is a roomy glove compartment in the central tunnel. Among the options, depending on the version, there are massage seats and a panoramic roof.
To date, the Fiat 600 is only offered in an electric version. However, we already know that during 2024 a hybrid engine. Jeep Avenger, in addition to the 100% electric model, is sold in some European markets, including Italian, also with gasoline unit.
The electric versions of the two B-SUVs share the same powertrain as the Stellantis Group. So let’s talk about one 115 kW (156 hp) electric motor with a torque of 260 Nm. The unit is powered by a 54 kWh (51 kWh usable) battery with NMC (Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt) type cells.
Speaking of recharging, the battery can deliver full DC power up to 100kW. On the other hand, in AC it can charge up to 11 kW. Both models have a WLTP range of approximately 400 km. The Jeep Avenger, as mentioned earlier, can also be equipped with a 1.2 turbocharged petrol engine with 100 hp.
In terms of driver assistance systems, the new Fiat 600 offers, among other things, adaptive cruise control with Stop&Go function, intelligent speed control, blind spot detection and automatic braking. The Jeep Avenger, on the other hand, has adaptive cruise control, lane centering, traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist recognition, and lane keeping assist.
The new Fiat B-SUV is proposed for launch in Versions 600e (RED) and 600e La Prima. The turnkey Fiat 600e (RED) list price is €35,950 and the top-end Fiat 600e La Prima list price is €40,950. Jeep is offering its new model in Avenger, Longitude, Altitude and Summit trim levels. For the version with a gasoline unit, the basic equipment (Avenger) is not available.
Gasoline model starts from 23 900 euroswhile electric from 34 600 euros. Both electric B-SUVs are compatible with government benefits.
