Ukraine attacked Russian airspace with Tu-141 Strizh drones – GUR (video)

Intelligence said the drones were loaded with explosives, causing serious damage to Russian planes.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense (GUR MO) told how exactly the airfields “Dyagilevo” and “Engels” were attacked last year. This was discussed in a special film of the episode “Russia’s Down Pilots” on August 3.

We are talking about cases that occurred on the territory of the Russian Federation in December 2022. Then, with the help of Tu-141 “Strizh” drones, the airfields “Dyagilevo” and “Engels” were attacked.

All devices were loaded with explosives, which caused serious damage.

A Tu-95MS strategic bomber and a Tu-22M3 long-range bomber were damaged in Dyagilevo.

In “Engels” 2 Tu-95MS aircraft were seriously damaged.

Kirill Budanov, Head of the Main Intelligence Department of the Ministry of Defense, noted that Ukraine did not have the opportunity to hunt these launch vehicles in the air, because the launches took place at a distance of 1,000 kilometers or more from Ukraine. Consequently, other possibilities must be sought.

It is worth noting that the Tu-141 unmanned aircraft was produced at the Kharkov Aviation Plant. It was developed in the 1970s. More than 150 units remained in independent Ukraine after the collapse of the USSR.

Recall that on December 5, two Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 aircraft were damaged in the explosion that occurred at the Dyagilevo airbase in the Ryazan region. 6 people were killed and 11 injured in the explosion.

On the same morning, on December 5, an emergency occurred at the Russian military airport in Engels. According to reports in the Russian media, two planes were damaged in an unknown drone attack.
