New AirPods will be able to recognize their owners thanks to a peculiar feature

Apple has filed a new patent that could allow next-gen AirPods to recognize their owners. This security feature will prevent third parties from using any of the headset’s features, such as playing music, making calls, or accessing Siri.

According to the patent AirPods may use a specific motion to ‘unlock’. For example, the user can set an ear tap gesture or a head nod. Once the AirPods detect movement, the user will be identified and allowed to use the headphones.

“Once it is determined that the motion is similar to that proposed, the user can be identified and allowed to use the hearing aids.”- reads an excerpt from a patent filed by Apple.

The patent also describes a feature that uses ultrasonic signals to check the proximity of AirPods to an Apple device. Moving AirPods too far from the device will turn off or disable some of their features.

These security features can greatly enhance the security of your AirPods.. Currently, anyone who finds a lost pair of AirPods can use them without requiring a password or identification.

This security feature is expected to come with the next generation of AirPods, which is rumored to release in 2024.. However, Apple may later include it in the second generation AirPods Pro, which will be released in September 2022.

New releases

The announcement of Apple’s new patent comes just a few days after one of the most important days for the company. The company is expected to unveil the iPhone 15 on that day. which caused great anticipation among fans of the brand. In addition, it is expected that it will be possible to find out what the next generation of AirPods will be, however, it is not yet certain that this will come true.

Some rumors suggest that the next generation of AirPods may have a new design, better sound quality, and new features.such as the ability to recognize their owners. However, Apple has not yet officially confirmed anything.
