Salvini, final Traffic Regulations at the next meeting of the Council of Ministers on September 11, 2023 105

New traffic rules it’s almost ready. Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini he returned to talk about innovations in the Road Traffic Regulations, saying that the final text will be presented to the next Council of Ministers on September 18.

At the next meeting of the Council of Ministers, on September 18, we will present the final draft of the road safety law, a new traffic code that provides for prevention, education, control, as well as sanctions.

Thus, after the first changes expected by the government, the resolution with the final text is about to be released. The Minister, speaking about the new Road Traffic Regulations, reiterated some of the main innovations implemented with the aim of reducing the number of deaths on Italian roads.

The goal is to reduce the number of deaths on Italian roads, as 3,000 deaths each year is an unacceptable massacre.

NEWS COMING SOON

One of the main changes will affect i new drivers (the limit within which novice drivers will not be able to drive the most powerful vehicles, i.e. with a specific power of more than 55 kW per ton and / or with a maximum power equal to or exceeding 70 kW, should be increased to 3 years; in the case of hybrid or electric models, the power increases to 65 kW per ton).

For novice drivers, let’s think about the deaths of the last few hours, at least in the early years of the license we foresaw the impossibility of driving large cars.

Punishments are also becoming tougher for people caught driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The use of mobile phones will be sanctioned, and schooling and driver’s license suspension, even permanent in the most serious cases, will also be important. Sanctions, checks and beatings for those who make mistakes.

The new traffic rules will also contain news regardinguse of electric scooters and speed cameras. Remember that to use scooters you will need a helmet, insurance and a license plate.

In Paris, after the referendum, scooters were banned, democracy always triumphs, I don’t ban them because I’m a liberal, but I just set a speed limit, a ban on leaving urban centers, a helmet, a license plate and insurance, because even a scooter is what it paints and driving at 60mph on the Beltway poses a risk to himself and others.

Speaking about speed cameras, Salvini reiterates that he cannot use them solely to collect money. Therefore, it is good if they are used near hospitals or schools, but not if they are used only to raise money without improving road safety. Minister Salvini also wanted to talk about 30 km/h theme in cities like Milan.

A 30 km/h limit makes sense where there are sensitive and dangerous places, but saying that in the city everyone drives at 30 km/h does not make any sense. Therefore, common sense is needed.
