MINI Cooper, new electric car arriving in Italy on October 16, 2023 8

MINI introduced the new 3-door MINI Cooper in September, currently only with electric motors. A few weeks after the official debut, the new model will arrive in Italy soon where it was shown at the Maison Mini in Milan on Via Montenapoleone (together with the new Countryman). Actually, October 18 orders will be officially opened. In this way, in a couple of days we will also be able to see the official price lists (they should start from around 37-38 thousand euros for the SE). Meanwhile, the car manufacturer has confirmed the main specifications of the Cooper SE, the most powerful variant of the new model.

402 KM AUTONOMY

We know the design of the new MINI Cooper well. The proportions remain classic for a 3-door MINI, with short overhangs and a short bonnet. Specifically, at the front we see new round LED headlights and an octagonal grille. The manufacturer tried to optimize aerodynamics as much as possible in order to reduce consumption and improve autonomy. The result is Cx 0.28.

Compared to the previous generation, the interior has been redesigned. Control Panel it is dominated by a 9.4-inch circular OLED display. from which it will be possible to view all the operating information of the car, the classic instruments are missing, as well as the ability to control all the digital functions available thanks to the infotainment system. The curved dashboard features textile surfaces for the first time. Thanks to the MINI Experience modes It will be possible to modify the graphics of the infotainment system and the operation of the power unit.

In terms of mechanics, the MINI Cooper SE can count on one electric motor. 160 kW/218 hp and 330 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 6.7 seconds. The electric unit is powered by a 54.2 kWh battery located in the floor of the car, which provides a range of 402 km on the WLTP cycle.

The battery can be charged with direct current up to a maximum power of 95 kW. Charging the battery from 10% to 80% takes 30 minutes.

We remind you that the MINI Cooper will also be offered in the E variant with a 135 kW/184 hp engine, a 40.7 kWh battery (maximum DC charging power of 75 kW) and a range of 305 km.

As for driver assistance systems, the car can count on 12 ultrasonic sensors and four all-round cameras. With MINI Parking Assistant Plus, the car can more clearly identify possible parking spaces. In addition, thanks to Explore Mode, the new MINI Cooper SE can be easily driven and parked outside using a smartphone if the side space is too small for it. Once parked, the Remote 360 ​​option allows you to view the parked vehicle’s surroundings via the MINI App. In the future there will also be variants equipped with internal combustion engines.
