“We are changing information about the Armed Forces of Ukraine to $”: Spam mail was sent to Ukrainians, what is known (photo)

The Strategic Communications Center noted that enemy messages were received mostly by residents of the Odessa, Donetsk and Kharkov regions. Citizens were called to be conscious.

On October 26, provocative mail began arriving on Ukrainian phones in which citizens were offered to share information about the Ukrainian Armed Forces in exchange for money. Focus He collected everything that was known about him.

It is known that the messages were received by customers of Ukraine’s three largest mobile operators: Kyivstar, Lifecell and Vodafone.

The SMS sent from user Krayina says, “We are changing the information about the Ukrainian Armed Forces to $.” At the end there is a link to a specific Telegram channel and under no circumstances you can’t pass. It is better to delete it from your phone immediately. It is unknown where the “offers” come from and who the “client” is.

Anatoly Sidorenko, commander of the 97th Infantry Brigade of the 60th Infantry Brigade, noted that he also received a message with such content on his Telegram channel. He warned Ukrainians that this was another provocation of the enemy and that they should not fall for it.

“Mass SMS messages have overwhelmed subscribers in Ukraine. The enemy is trying to bribe information and execute IPSO. Be careful and do not fall for provocations,” the message says.

In response, Kyivstar sent users an explanation of what was happening. The company’s information system discovered that users began to receive emails calling for treason.

“The messages were sent via the Internet, their source was abroad. Kyivstar experts immediately blocked the distribution channel. The attackers’ actions were reported to the SBU and the Cyber Police,” the message said.

The Center for Strategic Communications noted that such messages were mostly received by users in the Odessa, Donetsk and Kharkov regions. Citizens are asked to be conscious and not fall for enemy provocations.

“We call on Ukrainians not to respond to the enemy’s offers under any circumstances, to ignore the invader! We remind that criminal liability will arise in case of transfer of information regarding the Armed Forces of Ukraine, critical infrastructure and any other cooperation with the enemy. Moreover, this can cause great harm to the defenders of Ukraine,” the message says.

Ukrainian intelligence services did not comment on the incident at the time of publication of the material.

Let us remind you that on June 7, Ukrposhta customers were reported to have been attacked by Internet fraudsters. In the SMS, attackers ask people to reveal their personal information under the pretext of losing the package. Under no circumstances should it be used as a tool for provocations.
