You can make a solar panel yourself: a Ukrainian has compiled simple instructions

Dmitry Khmara, co-founder of space startups and author of the MySatUA project, posted instructions for making a small solar panel on social networks. All processes are described in the developer’s post on his personal Facebook page.

To create a solar panel at home you will need:

• print the substrate on a 3D printer;
• manually crimp and tin the wires;
• pack the wire ends in heat shrink;
• manually solder the silicon wafers together using tape and solder the wires;
• fix the silicone to the substrate with special tape;
• Pour epoxy resin into a “slide”, place it on special balancing stands, protect it from dust and temperature changes;
• remove bubbles in the vacuum chamber;
• Wait 48 hours in controlled climate conditions.

Dmitry Khmara emphasized that he explained the steps quite simply and that the job required some skills, but that this is how his company produces real solar panels. Finished products can be used to power street lights and other devices. Now the manufacturer is looking for a way to automate processes.
