The Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine is creating a robot to evacuate wounded soldiers from the battlefield. Deputy head of department Anna Gvozdyar announced this in an interview with Radio Liberty.
According to him, Ukraine should be more technologically advanced than Russia. There are also many ground-based solutions being worked on, as well as various UAVs. Drones can be involved in solving a large number of tasks: transporting ammunition or food.
Additionally, as Gvozdyar stated, work is continuing on a robot that will evacuate a wounded soldier from the battlefield.
“We are now looking for a robotic solution where a robot can evacuate a wounded person at least from a short distance, take him out from under heavy fire and thus save doctors,” Gvozdyar said.
He noted that doctors risked their lives when they tried to evacuate an injured person. Therefore, as the official noted, robots will eventually become indispensable assistants of military personnel on the battlefield.
“What an absolute plus this is: Where there is no one at the front and something is doing its job, no one gets hurt,” the deputy minister emphasized.
It was previously reported that Ukroboronprom would transfer hundreds of unmanned aerial vehicles to the army by the end of the year. Since August, Ukroboronprom has increased its supply of UAVs to the front hundreds of times and now produces both small FPV drones and devices with long flight range.
