In the first two stages the skeletons were mostly intact and unaltered, but in the third stage, with the exception of horses, the skeletons showed signs of being processed into food. This suggests that rituals at Casas del Turunuelo were accompanied by a form of communal eating that added a unique dimension to ancient practices.
