NAMH continues to develop its first car. This Hydrogen SUV called HUV, which was developed in collaboration with Pininfarina, who took care of the design. However, compared to the past, the company announced that it has chosen a different path at the technical level for its car. In fact, he initially made it clear that he wanted to launch a car equipped with fuel cell technology.
However, NAMX will now focus on internal combustion engine that will use hydrogen as fuel instead of gasoline.
The original project aroused great interest. The concept car originally had a fixed main hydrogen tank, to which 6 removable capsules were added. Capsules that acted as a kind of small secondary tanks and that could be replaced in just 30 seconds each through a compartment located at the rear of the machine. The company’s idea was to create a much more universal hydrogen distribution model, with capsules delivered directly to your home or exchanged through special stations, for example.
Then the car could count on one or two electric motors with a Fuel Cell system with a power of 300 and 550 hp. respectively. According to the company, the total range ranged from 700 to 800 km. Therefore, the fuel cell solution was shelved.
NAMX says it wants to combine a versatile and capable engine with controlled manufacturing costs to make hydrogen mobility truly affordable. The company explains:
Internal combustion engines provide greater stability and predictability in production costs, protecting the company and its customers from price fluctuations associated with the supply of rare minerals. Hydrogen internal combustion engines also boast greater reliability and versatility than fuel cells because they eliminate the need for high-purity hydrogen, which requires regular replacement of air and hydrogen filters, and can use lower quality and cheaper hydrogen.
Specifications of the engine that will power the NAMX car have not yet been provided, but Fauzi ANNAJAH, founder and CEO of the company, only added that it will be V8 engine developed and produced by Solution F, a subsidiary of the GCK Group. NAMX has completed testing of its SUV prototype and has entered the industrial development phase. Road testing should begin within a year.
