Called Volvo FM Low Input (low entry) and is a truck designed to perform a wide variety of tasks in urban environments such as waste management, distribution and construction.

This model will initially be sold in Europe, as well as Turkey, Australia and South Korea, starting in the first quarter of 2024. With the launch of the new Volvo FM Low Entry, Volvo Trucks’ 100% electric truck range now consists of just 8 models.

The new electric truck from Volvo Trucks is built on the FM platform. It features a lowered and forward cab, with a low entry and flat floor for easy entry and exit. The manufacturer emphasizes that the low seating position provides the driver with optimal visibility and control over the environment. It is for this reason that the Volvo FM Low Entry is rated five stars according to the Direct Vision standardwhich assesses heavy vehicles on London’s roads and will come into force in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Returning to the technical characteristics of the electric truck, the manufacturer adds that this model is equipped Volvo Dynamic Steering System for easy control and reduced vibration. Seats are available in three options: Driver + 0, 1 or 3 passengers. Three passenger seats located in the rear of the cabin are not visible to the driver. This choice minimizes blind spots and promotes optimal visibility.

The electric truck is available in two heights: long cab (1575 mm) and extended/extra high cab (1945 mm). Available axle configurations: 4X2, 6X2, 6X4, 8X2, 8X4. The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of the new Volvo Trucks model, that is, the weight of the vehicle in running order with maximum load, is 19-32 tons.

Speaking of transmission, we find Engine 330 kW powered by 4 batteries with a total capacity 360 kWh. On direct current, from the HPC column, recharging is possible up to a maximum power of 250 kW. On alternating current, however, up to 43 kW. A truck’s autonomy depends on many aspects, including load weight, driving style, temperature, route type, and more. The manufacturer, however, talks about a range of up to 200 km on a full tank of energy.
