George Clooney sells his famous Lake Como estate for a huge sum (video)

Clooney is willing to show the house only to potential wealthy buyers. He does not want any publicity or exaggeration in the press.

According to Page Six, 62-year-old American actor and entrepreneur George Clooney decided to sell his luxury mansion on the shores of Lake Como in Northern Italy for 100 million euros ($107 million). He purchased the property, known as Villa Oleandra, from the Heinz family in 2002 for $10 million.

Rumors that the actor wanted to sell the villa first emerged in 2010. Later, Clooney was considering getting rid of the property because of the paparazzi who were literally registered in the house. Talks resumed in 2015, less than a year after Clooney got married. Now rumor has it that the actor’s family is ready to bid farewell to the house for good.

“George loves the area and the people who live there but is aware of the attention he receives while in the city. He has received a large offer for a villa he is considering and is looking to buy a less accessible property in another region of Italy,” the source told reporters.

As for the villa on Lake Como, its owner did not put it up for public sale. According to insiders, there is a small list of potential and very wealthy people who will show the object. Clooney is against advertising and press hype.

Throughout Clooney’s years of ownership, the villa has been frequented by a host of influential Hollywood celebrities, politicians and royals, including Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Barack and Michelle Obama, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

Amal and George have a gorgeous property in French Provence called Domaine du Canadel, which they bought in 2021, where they love spending time with their two children. However, this summer the couple was also spotted at their villa in Italy. They were seen on dates at various restaurants in the area.

The couple has an extensive real estate portfolio that includes mansions in Italy and France, as well as properties in England, Los Angeles and New York.
